The present invention discloses an automatic temperature regulating system for a faucet, especially for an automatic faucet wherein water flow is actuated by means of a switch that does not require to be touched, said regulating system being manufactured to operate in such a way so as to compensate for the time spent in waiting hot water to be delivered from the hot water supply. The apparatus includes at least a temperature sensor, this first sensor being arranged in the hot water valve upstream the hot water supplying line. A more sophisticated apparatus includes a second temperature sensor arranged so as to sense the temperature of the output water. Methods to automatically regulate the temperature of output water from a remotely activated outlet or activated by a switch, that does not require to be touched, to compensate for the time spent in waiting hot water to be delivered from a hot water source, are also described.
