PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the change of the thickness of a groove section by pressurizing a battery can from below and from above at a proper pressure ratio in grooving on the side face of the battery can storing an electrode group. SOLUTION: An electrode group 5 laminated with positive electrodes 2, separators 3, and negative electrodes and wound into a spiral shape is inserted between a lower insulating plate 6 and an upper insulating plate 7 and stored in a battery can 1. The upper and lower portions of the battery can 1 are pinched and held by an upper die 9 and a lower die 10. The upper die 9 is constituted of a cylindrical outermost peripheral section 9a and a block 9b inscribed and slid on it. The pressurizing projection 11a of a roller 11 is brought into processcontact with the side section of the battery can 1 to form a groove section while the battery can 1 is rotated by the upper and lower dies 9, 10. The upper/lower pressurizing pressure ratio is set to 1.1-1.6. |
