PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable multiplexing while stepwisely limiting a user, who enables reproduction, or minimizing the increase of a data amount. SOLUTION: By using a user data start code defined in a moving picture experts group(MPEG) as it is, the start of user data can be recognized by a general MPEG decoder, next, a user data ID is set, and the kinds of various possible user data are blocked. When compression-encoding video data based on the standard of MPEG, one stage is selected out of the fixed number of stages corresponding to the kind of video data for each sequence and each GOP unit and set by the user data of MPEG standard as a reproducing level. The reproducing level is composed of one byte, high-order four bits express a user level and low-order four bits express a multiplexing level. |
