The present invention relates to a rotary connector which prevents an elastic flange from being separated from a flexible cable to prevent a side flexion. The rotary connector includes first and second housings rotatably connected to each other and forming an annular space therebetween. A flexible cable and a movable member are received in the annular space. The movable member comprises a rotary plate having a stationary cylinder which includes a guide production. The flexible cable is wound in opposite directions about opposite surfaces of the movable member, said cable including an U-shaped inverse portion extending through a space between the stationary cylinder and the inversion roller. An elastic flange having a substantially longitudinally free end portion under a discharged condition, is fixed to an internal surface of the flexible cable, and to a portion of the second housing internal cylinder. An amount of deformation of the free end portion can be reduced when said portion is bent between the stationary cylinder and the inversion roller, thereby preventing the elastic flange tip from being separated from the flexible cable.
