PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an optical transmission without the need for a clock recovery circuit requiring a large circuit scale. SOLUTION: In the transmission system, a optical transmission circuit 15 uses a drive current obtained by summing a modulation current in response to an input data signal DI and a modulation current in response to an input clock signal CI to drive a laser diode 14, an optical signal of which is sent via an optical fiber 16. In the reception system, the transmitted optical signal via the optical fiber 16 is received by a photo diode 17 and an optical reception circuit 18 is used to extract a data component Vod and a clock component Voc from the received output and the data component Vod is fed to a D input of a D F/F 19 and the clock component Voc is fed to a CK input of the D F/F 19, which reproduces a data signal DO. |
