发明名称 METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PRETILT DIRECTION OF LIQUID CRYSTAL CELL
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a liquid crystal cell which forms the direction and size of a desired pretilt angle. SOLUTION: An alignment layer 15 is subjected to primary irradiation with UV rays to arrange the molecules of the alignment layer 15 so as to attain the diversified pretilt angle directions with the horizontal direction of the substrate 16 and is further subjected to secondary irradiation with the UV rays to select the one direction among the directions of the pretilt angles, by which the pretilt direction of a liquid crystal cell is easily controlled. The alignment layer 15 is formed by mainly using a polyvinyl fluoro-cinnamate or a polysiloxane material and the pretilt angle thereof is determined by the irradiation energy of the UV rays.
