DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING NON-STANDARD SYNCHRONIZING SIGNAL AT VIDEO SIGNAL PROCESSING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally display a video signal on a screen even when a non-standard synchronizing signal is generated by outputting a video signal in a block preceding to an error block in place of a video signal in the error block. SOLUTION: A synchronizing separator part 100 separates a horizontal synchronizing signal HSYNC, a vertical synchronizing signal VSYNC and a field instruct signal O/E as a signal showing an odd-number or even-number field from a composite synchronizing signal CSYNC and outputs these signals to a system control part 200. The system control part 200 discriminates whether any error exists in the separated synchronizing signals or not. When it is discriminated the error exists in the separated synchronizing signals and that error occurs in the horizontal synchronizing signal HSYNC, processing is performed to hold and write the data in the preceding block and in the case of error in the vertical synchronizing signal VSYNC or the field instruct signal ODE, processing is performed to write data in the preceding block or to write data in blue or gray.
