An apparatus (10) for engaging a surgical cassette (26) within a surgical console (24), used in the management of irrigation and aspiration flows to a surgical site, comprises an articulating clamp (12) for engagement with the surgical cassette when in place in the console, and means (14) for advancing the articulating clamp (12) so as to urge the clamp into positive or latching engagement with the cassette, in use. There is preferably a fluid passage in the clamp itself and a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder to advance the clamp towards the console. <IMAGE> |
