<p>A machine for making a packing/cushioning pad from a stack of paper sheets in a web (M) fed by a pair of vertically aligned wheels (8, 11) and joined together by a second pair of wheels (14, 17) after having been creased transversely between the two pairs of wheels (8, 11, 14, 17). The feed wheels (8, 11) rotate at a substantially higher speed than the joining wheels (14, 17) and thus cause transverse creasing of the material (M). The machine is provided with means for measuring the length of the resulting web of material (M), which means comprise a device (c, 40) for measuring the angular distance covered by one of the pairs of wheels (8, 11, 14, 17), and an electronic device (uc) for correcting the angular distance to be covered in order to give the actual resulting linear web length.</p> |
