<p>PURPOSE:To simply mount an emission control device in an exhaust gas system of an automobile including existing models of cars and to remove black smoke or nitrogen oxides, without trouble in practice, into water whose amount is maintained at a proper value. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust emission control device comprises an exhaust gas purifier tank 7 connected to an engine exhaust gas pipe and having a water reservoir, a water feed tank 6 for feeding water to the tank through the exhaust gas pipe, a supply water storage tank 5 connected to the tank 6 through an automatic shut-off valve 11 and a pressure rise part (catalytic converter) 4 provided in the exhaust gas pipe which communicates with the water feed tank and the supply water storage tank. The exhaust emission control device is provided with, in the water reservoir, a distributing pipe communicating with an exhaust gas conduit, and comprises a first purifying chamber with a plurality of partition walls having cut-out holes on their upper parts and a second purifying chamber having a plurality of small chambers and baffle plates disposed in the front or rear part of the partition walls of the respective chambers.</p> |
