PURPOSE:To automatically mount a flat wire on a circuit board by bending the flat wire into a substantially reversed U-shape, by downwardly directing leads on both ends of the flat wire, by aligning the end faces of the leads into position and also correcting the position of the leads with a chuck, and by inserting both ends of the leads into attachment holes. CONSTITUTION:A flat wire 2 transferred by a chuck head 10 is positioned by a reference block 11 and a positioning guide block 13. The positioned wire 2 is bent into a reversed U-shape by a shaping block 20 that is forced upward and operates together with the guide block 13, so that leads 2a and 2b on both ends of the wire are directed downwards. The end faces of the leads 2a and 2b of the shaped wire are aligned into position by bringing reference blocks 30 into contact with the end faces from below. A chuck means 32 chucks the leads 2a and 2b to correct their position. The wire 2 having their leads correctly positioned is transferred above a circuit substrate 48 while its upper part is by pressed by a pusher 41 and both of lower ends are supported by chuck teeth 44, and the leads are then inserted into attachment holes on the substrate 48. |
