The electric kettle has a reservoir (1) for the water to be heated, and an electric heating element (5) in the bottom of the kettle, below the bottom (2) of the water reservoir. A manually operated switch (9) controls the heater. The heating element is connected to the external mains power supply through a connector block (10) made of an insulating material. The connector block has connectors (11) for the external plug and to connect (7a) to the heating element. An automatic cut-off switch is integrated with the connector block, and is triggered by a steam detector (8). A thermal cut-out (7) is placed below the bottom of the reservoir. |
