PURPOSE:To mechanically change over rotating torque to an input shaft or an outer wheel by mounting a plurality of sprags between both the cylindrical faces of the minor diameter face of the outer wheel and the major diameter face of the output shaft, tilting the sprags when the input shaft is rotated to engage with the cylindrical face of the outer wheel and the cylindrical face of the output shaft and operating a clutch. CONSTITUTION:On the center of the shaft of an outer wheel 11 are rotatably supported an input shaft 13 and an output shaft 15. Between the major diameter face 17 of the output shaft 15 and the cylindrical face 12 of the outer wheel 11 are circumferentially mounted a plurality of sprags 18. With the rotation of the input shaft 13, the sprag 18 collapses to engage the opposite cylindrical faces 12, 17 and a clutch is operated. When the rotating speed of the input shaft 13 is higher than that of the outer wheel 11, the sprag is brought into a neutral state, the rotation from the outer wheel 11 is interrupted and the rotation of the input shaft 13 is transmitted to the output shaft 15. Thus, two inputs to the input shaft and the outer wheel are mechanically changed over and transmitted to the output shaft. |
