NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula [R<1> is 13-21C straight-chain hydrocarbon group; R<2> is 2-11C straight-chain saturated hydrocarbon group or R<3>COOH (R<3> is CH2-CH2-or CH=CH-)]. USE:An emulsifier and membrane material for liposome. It has emulsifying power comparable to or higher than lecithin, etc., and has high safety. PREPARATION:For example, the objective compound of formula wherein R<2> is 2-11C straight-chain saturated hydrocarbon group is produced by (1) esterifying the 2-hydroxyl group of lysolecithin with n-alkyl acid in the presence of an esterification catalyst consisting of 4-dimethylaminopyridine in chloroform solvent under nitrogen gas stream while dropping a chloroform solution of N,N'- dichlorohexylcarbodiimide as a dehydration agent, (2) removing the solvent, the decomposed dehydration agent, the unreacted n-alkyl acid and the catalyst from the reaction liquid and (3) purifying the crude product by silica gel chromatography. |
