A path is defined for a lap (7) between a table (8) and a stripper (9). Introduction (17) and extraction (18) means feed the lap (7) in a plane (P) and in a direction (D). Two lower (19) and upper (21) needle boards are reciprocatingly driven so that the needles (22, 23) penetrate repeatedly into the lap (7) through openings (24, 26) provided in the table and in the stripper. In order to drive reciprocatingly the needle boards (19, 21), common crank means (41, 42) are provided on the same side of the lap (7) and transmit the reciprocating motion to the board (21) situated on the other side of the lap through a mechanical linkage (33) passing on either side of the edges of the lap. Utilisation for simplifying the fabrication and reducing the cost of needle looms particularly in small and medium width. |
