PURPOSE:To obtain a rotor for superconducting electric rotating machine, in which leak test for safety valve or airtight components is facilitated, by employing a structure wherein the driving side end shaft of the rotor for the superconducting electric rotating machine can be split in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A torque tube 1 is secured to a drive side end shaft 2 and a counter-drive side end shaft 3. A coil fixing shaft 4 forms the central part of the torque tube 1 and a superconducting coil 5 is wound thereabout. A helium outer cylinder 6 and a helium end board 7 are disposed, respectively, on the outer periphery and the opposite side faces of the coil fixing shaft 4 in order to form a liquid helium sump 8. A helium gas chamber 22 is formed at the end of the drive side end shaft 2 and communicated through a helium gas discharge pipe 21 with the liquid helium sump 8. The drive side end shaft 2 comprises a counter end side end shaft 2b and a end side end shaft 2c. The end side end shaft 2c is provided with a safety valve 23 and airtight components 28 communicated with the helium gas chamber 22.
