A violet-coloured pigment compsn. (I) comprises: (A) a 2,9-dichloro-quinacridone pigment having specific surface below 75 sq.m per g; and (B) a sulphonic acid of formula (II) or its salt. P-(SO3H)m (II). P = residue of a blue-coloured indanthrone or a blue-coloured copper phthalocyanine; m = 0.2-4.0. Also claimed is the prepn. of a pigmented plastics material, by incorporating (I) into a plastics material (III). Pref. (A) has specific surface below 30 (esp. 4-28) sq.m. per g. In (B), P = unsubstd. indanthrone or unsubstd. Cu phthalocyanine residue; and m = 0.5-2.0 (esp. 0.9-1.1). (II) is used in free acid, alkali(ne earth) metal salt, Zn salt or Al salt form, esp. as the free acid or Na or Ca salt. (III) is a cellulose ether or ester, polyurethane, polyester, polycarbonate, polyolefin, polystyrene, polysulphone, polyamide, polycycloamide, polyimide, polyether, polyether ketone, polyvinyl halide, PTFE, (meth)acrylic polymer, rubber, silicone polymer, MF, PF or VF resin, epoxy resin or diene rubber (including copolymers). |
