摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laminar compd. having such a specific adsorbing characteristic that the extent of equilibrium adsorption of oxygen is larger than that of nitrogen by interposing ions of a ternuclear metallic acetate between layers of a laminar silicate by an ion exchange reaction and heating the layers so that metal oxide crosslinking is caused between the layers. SOLUTION: Ions of a ternuclear metallic acetate are interposed between layers of a laminar silicate by an ion exchange reaction and the layers are crosslinked with oxide of the metal by heating in air to obtain the objective laminar compd. having such a specific adsorbing characteristic that the adsorbent adsorbs more oxygen than nitrogen. Montmorillonite is suitable for use as the laminar silicate. The ternuclear metallic acetate is selected from among ternuclear iron (III) acetate, ternuclear chromium (III) acetate and ternuclear iron (I) chromium (II) acetate. When the laminar compd. is used as a gas adsorbent for a pressure swing adsorption method (PSA), oxygen and nitrogen in air can be more effectively separated.</p>
