<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to record a multiple gradation image having excellent gradation property without skipping the gradation by controlling an adjacent recording element to an arbitrary recording element of a recording element group so as to be set to a non-driving state during the driving state of the arbitrary element. SOLUTION: In the image recorder, red, green and blue light source recording heads 3R, 3G, 3B of one or a plurality of rows of light emitting elements arranged in an array state are controlled to be driven based on image data by a line split controller 5 and controller 1 while a photographic sheet P for a color photograph of a silver salt sensitive material fed from a roll is conveyed while being supported on a support drum 2 rotated in a direction of an arrow, dot image exposure is repeated, and a color image is recorded on the sheet P. In this case, the recording elements of the respective heads are divided to N sets with each (N-1) pieces set as the same set, controlled so that the other set of the element group are set to non-driving state while one set of the element group is in a driving state to prevent the discontinuous skipping of the gradation.</p> |
