PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treatment of a molded plastic wherein a large quantity of energy is not required while neither a noise nor an exhaust gas is generated. SOLUTION: This method has the step of immersing a molded thermosetting plastic containing at least one filler selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, zinc hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide in an aqueous alkaline solution before the treatment. At least one step of immersing the molded plastic in water is carried out after immersion in an aqueous alkaline solution. Zinc oxide, etc., are dissolved in the aqueous alkaline solution so that the hardness of the molded plastic is greatly reduced. The subsequent immersion in water accelerates, e.g. the swelling of the molded plastic to thereby make it possible to greatly reduce the hardness thereof.
