PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high purity titanate compound-based ceramic material powder having fine particle diameter and narrow in particle diameter distribution by hydrolyzing a titanium alkoxide in an organic solvent and allowing to react with a specific water soluble metallic compound. SOLUTION: A mixed solution is prepared by carrying out a step (a) of dissolving titanium alkoxide in the organic solvent, a step (b) of adding the water soluble metallic compound (e.g. barium hydroxide) of a metal except titanium constituting the titanate compound and a step (c) of adding water necessary for hydrolyzing titanium alkoxide in order of the step (a), the step (b) and the step (c), in order of the step (b), the step (a) and the step (c), in order of step the step (b), the step (c) and the step (a) or in order of the step (c), the step (b) and the step (a). Next, the titanate compound-based ceramic material powder is obtained by heating the mixed solution preferably at 60-200 deg.C, allowing the hydrolyzed products of titanium alkoxide to react with the water soluble metallic compound to form and deposit the titanate compound (barium titanate). |
