PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of gravity separation of highly wet wastes and pieces of light metals such as aluminum and separating paper or plastics more precisely in the treatment of wastes. SOLUTION: Highly wet wastes are broken and dried to a water content of 20% or below and subjected to removal of iron pieces therefrom by a magnetic separator 6. The treated wastes are fed into a primary air separator 9 by means of a distributor 7, and the settlings are sent to a secondary separator 9 to separate stone, porcelain, glass and heavy non-ferrous metal pieces. The overflows from the primary and secondary separators 8 and 9 are sent to the subsequent rotary magnetic separator 10, where aluminum, pieces of light non-ferrous metals are separated and molded into solid fuels. |
