PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain monolithic refractories having a long usable time and excellent in work efficiency by incorporating refractory aggregate, alumina cement, aluminum lactate, sodium polyacrylate and a tartrate or a malate. SOLUTION: Refractory aggregate (A) such as sintered alumina, alumina cement (B), an aluminum lactate compd. (C) such as aluminum glycolate lactate, sodium polyacrylate (D) and an alkali metallic salt of tartaric acid or malic acid (E) such as disodium malate are incorporated as essential components to produce the objective monolithic refractories. The amts. of the components B, C, D and E are 1-15 pts.wt., 0.05-5 pts.wt., 0.01-1 pts.wt. and 0.01-1pt.wt., respectively, per 100 pts.wt. of the component A. A dispersant such as a lignin sulfonate surfactant and a binder such as sodium phosphate or water glass may further be added. |
