TORCH NOZZLE FOR WELDING AND CUTTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out continuous fusion and continuous cutting for a long period by forming the tip part of a torch nozzle with a silicon nitride ceramic having specific thermal shock resistance. SOLUTION: In a cylindrical nozzle in which the torch nozzle 1 for arc welding is mounted to a head adapter 2, the torch nozzle is mounted so as to position at the tip of the head adapter 2 and encircle the surrounding of a welding tip 4 to hold a welding wire 3, a thickness of the tip part 1a of a torch nozzle 1 is made thinner than that of a base part 1b. The silicon nitride ceramic constituting the torch nozzle 1 uses one having a thermal shock resistance ΔT of >=700 deg.C. The silicon nitride ceramic may form the whole body of torch nozzle 1 or the tip part only on which sticking of spatter of fused metal occurs. By this method, sticking of a spatter of the fused metal can be significantly reduced.
