PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible color developing composition and a reversible heat sensitive recording medium, retaining a stabilized color developing property and a decoloring property while corresponding to the using and environmental conditions in a wide range. SOLUTION: In this reversible heat sensitive color developing composition, employing an electron donor color developing compound and an electron accepting compound and capable of forming color developing condition and decoloring condition relatively due to a difference between heating temperatures and/or cooling speeds after heating, a phenolic compound shown by the formula; is employed. (wherein R1 is a 6-22C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, R2 is a bivalent hydrocarbon group which May have an oxygen atom and X and Y are each a bivalent group). |
