SLURRIED NEUTRALIZER FOR TREATMENT OF EXHAUST GAS AND TREATING METHOD OF EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove an acid component in exhaust gas with a high removing efficiency by a half-dry process by incorporating particles of a water-absorbing polymer compd. into a slurried neutralizer. SOLUTION: The slurried neutralizer used to remove an acid component in exhaust gas by a half-dry process contains particles of a water-absorbing polymer compd. As for the water-absorbing polymer compd. particles, such a material is preferably used that contains water-absorbing particles having <=100μm average particle size which can absorb a large amt. of water, 0.1-30wt.% calcium hydroxide, and 0.1-20 pts.wt. of water-absorbing polymer particles based on 100 pts.wt. of calcium hydroxide. Thus, absorption and removing efficiency for an acid component by a neutralizer can be significantly improved.
