摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow to regulate the fuel injection timing and the injection mode in the same cylinder, and to suppress more the highest pressure in the tube and the rise of the combustion temperature, by making different a fuel injection pump, and the lengths of the high pressure injection pipes to connect the fuel injection pump and the fuel injection valves, at each cylinder. SOLUTION: In the operating condition of a diesel engine furnishing a fuel injection system, a high pressure fuel reaching a fuel distribution box 3 is delivered to fuel injection valves 1 passing through high pressure injection pipes 2, 2', and 2" with different lengths, respectively, reaches to a fuel stay passing through the fuel passages in the injection valves 1, pushes up needle valves against the needle valve springs, and it is injected to cylinders from nozzle holes. In this case, the injection timings of the fuel injection valves 1 are different corresponding to the difference of the lengths of the high pressure injection pipes 2, 2', and 2", the combustion in the cylinder is made into a slow combustion suppressing the combustion speed, the maximum pressure in the cylinder is reduced compared with the conventional device, and the maximum value of the combustion temperature is also reduced.
