PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly antioxidant lubricating oil composition by mixing a base oil with a combination comprising a specified fatty acid ester and specified sulfur and/or phosphorus compounds. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a lubricating base oil, 0.1-5mass% based on the total weight of the composition, 3-methyl-5-tert-butyl-4- hydroxyphenyl-substituted fatty acid ester represented by the formula (wherein R<1> is a 1-6C alkylene, and R<2> is a 1-24C alkyl or alkenyl), and 0.1-5mass%, based on the total weight of the composition, at least one compound selected from among sulfides, phosphites, dithiophosphates and dithiocarbamates. |
