PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansible self-control system including an image optical sensor. SOLUTION: This self-control system includes an air bag housing and an air bag 9 disposed therein. In this case, an expanding device 5 is used for expanding the air bag 9. A shock sensor provides a first signal for detecting at least one designated state showing a shock. The self-control system further includes an optical image sensor 28 for detecting the state of crew and providing a second signal according to the detection. The second signal determines at least one parameter related to the expansion of the air bag. The system also includes a control device, and provides a third signal to the expanding device in response to the first and second signals. The expanding device 5 expands the air bag 9 according to the first and second signals.
