The system consists of two bases (51,61), especially of a plastics material, with interlocking projections (53,63). The projections on one base are in the form of ribs (54) with pointed edges (58) of arrowhead section, having thrust shoulders. The projections on the other base are in the shape of rods (64) with hemispherical tips (66) which have flat undersides (68) to engage with the thrust shoulders on the ribs. The fastening is closed by pressing the two bases together so that the projections on one pass between those on the other and lock with the thrust shoulders on the ribs engaging with the undersides of the hemispherical heads. It is separated by sliding one component lengthwise relative to the other.
