The method involves transporting products such as trussed tomatoes, peppers etc. typically in barrels from the harvesting point by trucks in a train to a filler track in a further working room. Each truck (6) in the train is brought in succession while coupled to the others in front of a conveyor (8), preferably a roller-conveyor, to which the filled barrels on its are directly transferred. At the transfer point, the lengthwise axis of the truck can be at right angles to that of the conveyor, or parallel to it. During transfer, the angle of the truck lengthwise axis can be varied so that the barrels are delivered directly onto the roller-conveyor.
