Rank or position stages for piece goods conveyor

The system of rank and/or position stages on a piece goods conveyor consists of holders for individual items or batches of the goods (1,2), such as cups, fixed in groups of 3 to one of two or more parallel tracks (3,4). For example one group (1) may be fixed to the inner and another to the outer (2) track of a continuous circuit conveyor. The tracks are separate but move in the same direction and can be driven synchronously. The holders stretch across the full width of all tracks. The tracks can be operated independently from one another so that one batch is stationary while another is carried on, perhaps to second station. In this way one batch can be processed without interrupting the flow of the rest. The system can be installed wherever multiple batch processing stations are required.
