The invention concerns a machine for filling and sealing plastic bags, the machine producing two sealed bags (6) per operating cycle. The machine has a cross-weld sealing device (20) with two sealing units (21, 22). Each sealing unit (21, 22) has a pair of sealing heads (31, 32 and 131, 132) as well as pairs of grippers (33, 34; 35, 36 and 133, 134; 135, 136) located immediately above and below the sealing heads. In order to produce a high-quality seal across the bags (6), each of the sealing heads has its own drive in the form of a hydraulic cylinder (44, 45, 50 and 144, 145, 150), whereas the gripper arms which are moved in the same direction (33, 35 and 134, 136 plus 133, 135 and 34, 36) in the two sealing units (21, 22) have common drives in the form of pneumatic cylinders (65, 66 and 165, 166). |
