Rinsing device for surgical use

The rinsing device (10) is used in conjunction with a suction tube (11) and a container holding the rinsing fluid. The device further comprises a funnel section (12) with a widened inlet (15) at one end connected via a channel (17) to a narrow outlet (16). In a chamber (18) within the funnel section is a projecting piece (19) which acts as a valve to close the inlet from the outlet. A port (20) is located in the projecting piece and a cover (28) is arranged proximally to it over the inlet of the funnel. The cover has an inlet for the rinsing medium and a channel (31) for the suction tube. A lip type valve assembly in the projecting piece acts to control fluid flow through the device. The device is assembled in stages from discreet components.
