The die-casting piston (10) consists of a main piston body (11) attached to a piston rod, and a hollow cylindrical slider element (14). The outer surface of this element slides along a filler chamber of the die-casting machine. The slider element (14) is provided with a longitudinal slit, and is mounted with a radial preload onto the main piston body (11).
