FASTENING NAIL

The invention concerns a fastening nail made of bioresorbable plastic material for securing a cover membrane to body bone surrounding a bone defect filled with bone substitute material. The nail has a head designed to enable it to be acted on by a pressure and/or impact tool and, joined to the head, a shaft with a smaller diameter. The shaft has an essentially cylindrical gripping section and, joined to it, a tip section with a conical surface tapering towards the point. The nail is characterized in that the plastic material is at least partly non-crystalline (amorphous) and has a glass transition temperature in the range of body temperature, the direction of the preferred molecular orientation in the material in the region of the shaft running essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the nail.
