Drying groups paper web transfer apparatus with no suction units

An apparatus for connecting two drying groups of a machine for the production of paper or cardboard web, in which each group has several drying cylinders and guide rollers with the web led meandering through together with a supporting belt, has a web guide roller serving as a direction reversing roller in the transfer region between the groups to change the direction of web and belt in order to transfer the web on to the following group's support belt being led around a guide roller. The web guide roller (17) is placed in the transfer region so that a negative pressure, produced in the discharge wedge (31) by the diverging nip of the support belt running off from the web guide roller (17), supports the web (13) transfer. Also claimed are: (i) a drying section using such apparatus; and a process where the apparatus is used.
