Shuttering device for staircase steps

The shuttering device comprises of a base element (1) that is trough-like, and has sidewalls (12) extending upwards from the bottom (10,11) along part of the periphery at least. An opening (13) in the bottom allows the passage of reinforcing components and/or concrete or other filling material. Mating top and bottom fasteners (2,3) allow attachment to other troughs above and below. The trough can be stepped, with upper and lower bottom surfaces, the opening being contained in the bottom one and facing forwards, i.e. in the downstream direction. A step-section can be provided, for connection to the trough.
