A refrigerator or freezer compartment (1) has at least one storage basket (2) which may be moved along a recessed guide track (9) in the side walls of the compartment by means of a freely rotating roller (14) engaged in the track and attached to the rear corner of the basket. Another roller system (12) is attached near the front edge of the refrigerated compartment and is arranged to allow an outer top bar (15,16) of the basket to roll on it. A suitable formation (19) in this bar causes withdrawal of the basket to be halted prior to instability due to imbalance occurring.
