PURPOSE:To make the title film, which is superior in heat resistance, dimensional stability, hydrolysis resistance, dielectric properties and insulation properties and has high adhesion to a metal and a low raw material cost, usable for various use, by a method wherein a styrene polymer in syndiotactic structure is metallized after stretching. CONSTITUTION:Metallized film layers are provided on one side or both the sides of a film obtained by biaxially orienting styrene polymer mainly comprised of syndiotactic structure and having weight-average molecular weight of at least 50000. Then after the styrene polymer comprised of the syndiotactic structure and having weight-average molecular weight of at least 50000 is oriented at a temperature of at least the glass transition temperature and the melting point or lower, a metallic layer is formed on one side or both the sides of the obtained film through metallizing or laminating. Then the styrene polymer of a film material possesses mainly the syndiotactic structure. In the syndiotactic structure, stereochemical structure is mainly the syndiotactic structure, that is, the same possesses stereotype structure where a phenyl group and substituted phenyl group, which is of a side chain to a main chain formed through carbon- carbon linkage, are positioned alternately in the opposite direction. |
