PURPOSE:To easily prepare a software debug structure by outputting exclusive identification information that can identify a substitution control function corresponding to a real chip via a system development assisting device. CONSTITUTION:A system development tool reads the identification information received from an evaluation chip and identifies the real chip function of the evaluation chip. Owing to the consistency of said recognizing process, both hardware and software which the system development tool recognizes the type of the evaluation chip can be used in common regardless of the real chip function of the evaluation chip. Thus the system development tool extracts the added part of a debugging program corresponding to the identification information out of a data table, etc., and can perform an emulating action, etc. As a result, the general-purpose applicability of the system development tool can be improved by applying a partial addition to the debugging program without changing the hardware of said tool against plural types of evaluation chips corresponding to the different real chips. |
