<p>PURPOSE:To decide traveling linearity only while observing a waveform displayed on a display device by providing the traveling linearity inspection instrument with a detecting part for detecting the envelope of a signal through a filter part and the display device for displaying the output signal waveform of the detecting part. CONSTITUTION:The inspecting device is provided with a specific reference tape 24 capable of recording pilot signals at the same frequency at the time of recording them in the same track and guaranteeing the linearity of the track and an automatic track finding (ATF) tracking servo circuit 19 for matching the phase of heads 1A, 1B with that of tracks based upon the pilot signals reproduced by the heads 1A, 1B at the time of setting up the tape 24 in a tape traveling mechanism to be inspected. The filter part 21 for extracting a specific pilot signal from a signal reproduced from each head, the detecting part 22 for detecting the envelope of the signal component extracted through the filter part 21, and the display device 23 for displaying an output signal waveform outputted from the detection part 1. Thus, the linearity of the inspected mechanism from a video signal area up to a PCM audio signal recording area can be inspected.</p> |
