PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the power consumption by confirming information from multi- stage encode information or 1st stage decode information and enabling a still mode of a receiver based on the result so as to keep the receiver to be an ON-state when needed. SOLUTION: A time of a succeeding PCH(paging control channel) is monitored in a sleep state. When a PCH time is decided, a 1st bit of an incoming message is descrambled (S510). The bit is checked with respect to a 1st bit of a known bit pattern stored in a memory (S512). When it is correct, the succeeding bit is descrambled (S516). Then whether or not the succeeding bit is the known bit pattern is checked (S518). When the bit is correct, whether or not the bit is a final bit of the known sequence is checked (S520, S522). When the discrimination is YES, a paging message is decoded (S524). |
