PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PWM signal generator free from malfunctioning at the starting time of the generation operation of a PWM signal, without using a superfluous circuit for setting operation. SOLUTION: A counter 26 counts a specified clock signal. A comparator 27 compares corresponding individual bits of the counter 26 and a register means concerning each register means, and outputs a coincidence signal when the values of individual bits coincide all. Each time a coincidence signal is outputted by the comparator 27, an output inverting means inverts the state of the output signal corresponding to a register means being concerned in comparison. And a setting means sets a required data calculated by an adder in the register means being concerned in comparison in accordance with on-width or off-width data. By initialization, the value of the register means being concerned in comparison is initialized to a certain specific value, and a coincidence signal to be generated by the comparator 27 first, at the starting time of PWM signal generating operation after the initialization, is produced at the initial value of the register means being concerned in comparison. |
