PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foam of a modified polypropylene-based resin, low in density, high in content ratio of an isolated cell, excellent in an outlook and a thermal stability, and useful for a thermal insulating material, a cushioning material, a food container, etc., by foaming a specified and modified polypropylene-based resin. SOLUTION: This foam is obtained by melting and mixing a modified polypropylene-based resin (A) obtained by melting and mixing a polypropylene- based resin (Al), isopropylene monomer (A2) and a radical polymerization initiator [e.g.α,α'-bis (t-butylperoxy-m-isopropyl) benzene] [e.g. the compound (A) is obtained by melting and mixing 100 pts.wt. component (A1 ) with added 0.1-100 pts.wt. component (A2 ) and 0.1-10 pts.wt. component (A3 ), at 130-400 deg.C] with 0.5-100 pts.wt. foaming agent (B) based on 100 pts.wt. component (A), and foaming the resultant mixture by further performing of such as the extrusion thereof. |
