PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify and facilitate the procedure of the replacing operation of a recording element substrate by allowing energizing force to act on the recording element substrate and a drive element substrate in order to electrically connect both substrates to bring them to a pressure contact state and providing an ink supply mechanism allowing ink to flow between a pressure contact means and a liquid chamber. SOLUTION: An ink supply port 1009 is arranged to the passage forming member connected to the recording element substrate 1001 fixed to a main base stand 1005 and a drive element substrate 1002 is fixed to an auxiliary base stand 1004 to be electrically connected to the recording element substrate 1001. The ink supply mechanism connected to the ink supply port 1009 of the recording element substrate 1001 is constituted on the pressure contact plate 1007 bringing the recording element substrate 1001 and the drive element substrate 1002 to pressure contact state and an ink supply tube 1013 is fixed to the ink supply port 1009. The connection electrode of the recording element substrate 1001 and the drive element substrate 1002 are tightened by a screw 1017. The auxiliary stand 1004 is pressurized to apply energizing force to both substrates 1001, 1002 to bring them to a pressure contact state. By this constitution, the procedure of the replacing operation of the recording element substrate can be simplified and facilitated.
