PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hall element having high sensitivity and an excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: In a Hall element which is composed of forming a semiconductor thin film having a patterned magnetism sensing section on a ferromagnetic substrate and amounting a rectangular magnetic chip for converging magnetism on the semiconductor thin film, the length of one side of the magnetic chip is made longer than (Lsinθplus chip mounting tolerance) or shorter than (Lsinθminus chip mounting tolerance) (where, the length of the magnetism sensing section and the angle between the center line of the magnetism sensing section the one side of the rectangular surface which is in contact with the magnetism sensing section are respectively represented by L andθ(45 deg.<=θ<=90 deg.).
