PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane foam producible readily simply and inexpensively, soft in touch to the skin, having a high class feeling and prepare a coating tool for makeup. SOLUTION: This polyurethane foam comprises a continuous open cell type nonrigid polyurethane foam, has >=100 cells (especially 200-400cells)/25mm<2> , a circular or an almost circular crosssectional shape, 80-300μm (especially 85-280μm) cell diameter and 120g/cm<3> density. The foam has a larger number of cells than that of an existing one, is soft in touch to the skin, has no dry feeling and has a high class feeling. A coating tool for makeup (puff, etc.) made from the polyurethane foam is extremely excellent in a feeling in use.
