PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unsaturated higherα-olefinic copolymer excellent in weathering resistance, heat resistance, ozone resistance and dynamic fatigue resistance and large in a vulcanization speed, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This unsaturated higherα-olefinic copolymer is a random copolymer produced from at least one kind of higherα-olefin selected from 6-20Cα-olefins, a 2-5Cα-olefin and at least one kind of linear or branched non- conjugated triene or tetraene having a vinyl group in the molecule, comprises 70-99.9mol.% of constituting units derived from at least one kind of the higher a olefin selected from the 6-20Cα-olefins, 0-30mol.% of constituting units derived from the 2-5Cα-olefin, and 0.1-30mol.% of constituting units derived from the non-conjugated triene or tetraene, and has an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.05-10dl/g measured in decalin at 135 deg.C.
