PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-sensitivity measurements with no difference in detecting sensitivity from low to high mass ranges. SOLUTION: Sample ions 8, produced in a three-dimensional quadrupole space formed by a ring electrode 5 and an end cap electrode 4, are stored in the quadrupole space. When a high-frequency voltage of the ring electrode 5 is controlled by means of an FNF(filtered noise field) signal, only specific ions are stored. The ions stored are released out of the electrodes by control of the high-frequency voltage of the end cap 4 using the FNF signal, are deflected b a deflector 10, and fed to an ion detector 11. The voltage applied to the deflector 10 is varied depending on the FNF signal. Thus the position of the ion detector 11 which is collided with the sample ions can be held the same. |
